Terms of Service
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of hoabucket.com and related HOA Bucket services. The service is provided by Anglerfish Software LLC, a Colorado company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Questions can be sent to hello@hoabucket.com.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you act for an association or another organization, you represent that you have authority to act for it and accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Using HOA Bucket
Section titled “Using HOA Bucket”HOA Bucket helps U.S. HOA and condo associations organize projects, records, vendors, properties, shared assets, and schedules. You must be at least 18 and authorized to access any association workspace you use.
The association remains responsible for its decisions, legal duties, records, and operations. HOA Bucket provides software; it does not act as your property manager, attorney, accountant, or official custodian responsible for satisfying the association’s recordkeeping duties.
Keep your account information accurate, protect your credentials, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Association Owners are responsible for maintaining appropriate membership, permissions, and continuity when board members change.
Your records and our service
Section titled “Your records and our service”You and your association retain your rights in content submitted to HOA Bucket. You authorize us and the service providers we use to host, process, display, transmit, index, and back up that content as needed to provide, secure, and support the service. This permission does not transfer ownership of your records to us.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload or share information, including information about residents and vendors. Avoid uploading information that is unnecessary for association operations or that you are not authorized to disclose.
We do not sell customer data, share it for targeted advertising, or use association content to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
We retain our rights in the HOA Bucket software, branding, and other service materials. These Terms grant you permission to use the service for its intended purpose, not ownership of the service itself.
Trials, plans, and payment
Section titled “Trials, plans, and payment”HOA Bucket offers a 30-day free trial without a credit card. A trial does not create a paid subscription unless you authorize payment and complete subscription setup. If you subscribe during a trial, recurring charges begin after the remaining trial as disclosed during setup.
Paid plans are billed monthly in U.S. dollars at the price shown when you subscribe, with any applicable taxes disclosed during payment setup. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Each plan’s included users, properties, and other applicable limits are shown in the service.
We will disclose changes to recurring prices or material plan terms before they take effect so that you can decide whether to continue or cancel. Changes apply prospectively. If payment fails or paid access expires, editing may be restricted while existing records remain available under the retention policy below.
Cancellation and prorated refunds
Section titled “Cancellation and prorated refunds”Ordinary cancellation
Section titled “Ordinary cancellation”An association Owner can cancel at any time through Billing in the app or by contacting hello@hoabucket.com. Ordinary cancellation stops renewal. Paid access continues through the end of the current paid billing period, and no automatic refund is issued for that remaining period.
Ending paid access early
Section titled “Ending paid access early”If you want to end paid access early, request a refund at hello@hoabucket.com. We refund the unused portion of the current monthly subscription payment, prorated by the days remaining in that billing period from the effective cancellation date. Paid access ends on that date. We will confirm the date and refund amount with you.
For example, if half of a paid monthly billing period remains when early cancellation takes effect, the refund is half of that month’s subscription payment. Refunds concern unused time in the current billing period; they do not create a recurring entitlement to refunds for periods already used. Any additional refund rights required by law remain available.
Refunds are handled through support and returned through the payment provider. The time for funds to appear depends on the payment provider and your financial institution.
Records after a subscription or trial ends
Section titled “Records after a subscription or trial ends”After paid access ends, or after a free trial expires without a subscription, the association has a 90-day read-only period. Authorized members can read and search existing records and download existing files during that period. Normal creation and editing require an active trial or paid access.
The period starts when paid access ends, including early cancellation with a refund, or when an unsubscribed trial expires. If the association reactivates within that period, retained records remain available in the active service. Otherwise, association records and uploaded files are deleted from the live system after the 90 days. An authorized association representative may request earlier deletion.
Keep copies of records your association needs and retrieve them before the retention period ends. Contact support if you need help. Backup copies can remain for up to 89 additional days after live-system deletion. Limited legal, billing, and security retention exceptions are described in the Privacy Policy. Backups do not extend ordinary account access or guarantee recovery.
External services and AI connections
Section titled “External services and AI connections”You may choose to connect an external AI tool or another compatible client through MCP. Such a connection can retrieve data and perform supported actions within your permissions. Review the information you share and the changes a tool proposes or makes. You remain responsible for authorizing access and reviewing decisions made using the results.
Third-party services have their own terms, privacy policies, and availability. HOA Bucket does not control their answers or their handling of information they receive. Disconnecting a service does not necessarily remove its existing copies of information. AI-generated answers may be inaccurate and should be checked against the original records before you rely on them.
Acceptable use
Section titled “Acceptable use”Do not use the service to violate the law or others’ rights; upload malicious software; access another association’s data without permission; bypass access controls; or interfere with the service’s security or availability. Do not misrepresent your identity or authority to act for an association.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a material violation, a security threat, unlawful use, or a legal requirement. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue. Security or legal restrictions may limit access during a retention period.
Availability and responsibility
Section titled “Availability and responsibility”We work to keep HOA Bucket useful and available, but interruptions, errors, and maintenance can occur. Unless separately agreed in writing, we do not provide a guaranteed uptime or support-resolution commitment. We typically respond to support email within two business days.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. This does not exclude any warranty or obligation that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, Anglerfish Software LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.
Governing law and changes
Section titled “Governing law and changes”These Terms are governed by Colorado law and applicable federal law, without applying conflict-of-law rules. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado, and the parties consent to their jurisdiction. These Terms do not require binding arbitration.
We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will publish the updated Terms and provide notice of material changes before they take effect. If you do not agree with a material change, you can stop using the service and cancel under the cancellation and refund policy above. Mandatory rights under applicable law are preserved.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Provisions concerning ownership, payment obligations already incurred, limitations of liability, and disputes survive termination where relevant.
